We both were awake before our alarm and decided to just get up and “blow this pop stand!“ We packed up as quick as we could and were gone shortly after 7:30 AM. We stopped in the town of Lake George for breakfast. It was pretty good with good coffee, but everything we experienced in New York state felt a bit "dicey." The rest area bathrooms looked like what I would imagine in a prison block.
Today’s drive included lots of interstate, but it included “beautiful parts,” "incredible parts" and “pretty parts.” (We are limited in our synonyms for “stunningly beautiful!”)
We ate our picnic lunch in a rest area by the Susquehanna River.
We crossed into Pennsylvania at 1:49 PM. The skies were darkening, but the scenery was lovely throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. We spent the night at a motel in Lock Haven and were happy to shower and wash Rogers Rock dirt out of our clothes!
